GST Calculation Formula
For an amount exclusive of GST:
GST Amount = Base Amount × GST Rate ÷ 100
Final Amount = Base Amount + GST Amount
Example: 18% GST
If the taxable amount is ₹10,000 and GST is 18%:
- Base Amount: ₹10,000
- GST: ₹1,800
- Final Amount: ₹11,800
Remove GST from an Inclusive Amount
When the price already includes GST, the taxable amount can be calculated using the applicable GST rate.
Taxable Amount = Inclusive Amount × 100 ÷ (100 + GST Rate)
For example, an amount of ₹11,800 inclusive of 18% GST corresponds to a taxable amount of ₹10,000 and a GST component of ₹1,800.
